Discover the convenience and reliability of our IP65 Lithium Iron Phosphate battery. With a convenient built-in design for quick installation and maintenance, this battery offers safety and reliability with a LiFePO4 cathode. Scalability is built in, with a capacity of 5.12 kWh and the Battery Manage System allowing parallelization of up to 32 batteries. Manage and monitor for optimal longevity.

How long does a home battery last?

We offer a 10-year product warranty. This is a relatively long guarantee for home batteries. The expected lifespan is a lot longer.
Based on 345 charging cycles per year, the expected life of the home battery is 15 years.

How fireproof is a home battery?

Safety is our priority and in this we do not compromise. This is why our batteries are made from lithium iron phosphate rather than lithium ion. Lithium ion is, in fact, a chemical compound that can suffer from thermal instability. This means that if it overheats, there is a risk of fire. Lithium iron phosphate, on the other hand, consists of natural raw materials, which are not harmful to the environment. The composition also makes these batteries more stable. Thus, they are more resistant to overheating and incombustible. Our home battery is therefore environmentally friendly but, most importantly, safe.

Where should I place a home battery?

Partly because of the size of the battery, it is generally placed in a garage or storage room. We chose a battery with an aesthetic design so that it can be placed in other places in the house.

How big is a home battery?

Our entry-level model the Firefly 3.6 kWh measures 430 x 430 x 279 mm. Each additional 3.6 kWh module adds 169 mm in height to a maximum total height of 1.29 m. In addition, the dimensions of the 5 kW inverter are 451 x 469 * 184 mm.

Is the home battery modular?

Yes, Chargeblock’s home battery is modular, so the system is expandable based on increased future demand.

What is the weight of a home battery?

Our entry-level model the Firefly 3.6 kWh has a weight of 49 kg. Each additional 3.6 kWh module adds 37 kg to a maximum total weight of 271 kg. In addition, the 5 kW inverter has a weight of 20 kg.

What is the efficiency of the home battery?

The home battery has a Roundtrip efficiency of 94.5% to a maximum of 97.9%, and an efficiency of 98%. Roundtrip efficiency is the percentage of electricity stored in the home battery that can later be retrieved for use in the home. How does that work? Direct current flows to the battery. Once there, the home battery converts direct current to alternating current and when the battery goes to discharge it is converted back to alternating current. In this pathway, 2.1% to a maximum of 5.5% energy is lost.

Are subsidies already available for purchasing a home battery?

Currently, there are no specific subsidies available to individuals when purchasing a home battery in the Netherlands. However, the Green Left has been arguing for some time to add batteries to the SDE++ scheme, which could be a possible step in that direction. It remains to be seen whether this lobbying will affect the availability of home battery subsidies to individuals.

How much space does the home battery take up?

The home battery is expandable in height so it takes up little space per square meter. To be precise, the home battery takes up 430 x 430 mm, and the inverter can be hung on the wall, also taking up little space.
