A "no break" installation refers to a configuration in which a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is used to provide a continuous and uninterrupted power supply to critical equipment, even during power outages or voltage drops.
In a no break installation, the UPS is placed between the power outlet and the equipment that needs protection from power interruptions. The UPS acts as an intermediary device that regulates and secures the power supply.
When electricity is available, the UPS supplies power to the connected equipment through the outlet. At the same time, the UPS charges its internal batteries, which serve as an emergency power source.
In the event of a power outage or voltage drop, the UPS automatically switches to battery mode and delivers direct power to the equipment. This prevents the equipment from being immediately shut down or damaged due to the power failure. It gives users time to save their work, properly shut down systems, or continue working without interruption.
The purpose of a no break installation is to ensure the continuity of important processes and systems, even during power interruptions. This can be especially important in environments where the availability of power is crucial, such as data centers, medical facilities, industrial installations, and other critical applications.
